Look at the gorgeous Evergreen runner my friend Julie made! 🌲
In search of a beautiful project to make with my free Evergreen pattern, we dreamed up this table runner finishing at about 14" x 59". We wanted a piece that could be an eye-catcher on its on or part of a festive holiday setting, easily adjustable in length. And I think we nailed it, wouldn't you say?! I find it deserves a longer time to shine than just the holidays! At least for all of fall and winter I'd allow it on my table, or why not year-round, really?! What do you think? 😉
In order to create a bit more movement, we decided for a staggered placement of the trees. And having the trees alternate in direction meant that the design wouldn't be upside down for anyone seated at the table.
Feeling inspired? Here is how you can make your own table runner:
- Get the free Evergreen pattern.
- Print 6 sets of FPP templates.
- Prepare 7 background strips to go between the trees: 3” x 14 1/2” (7x) - each of them 2” longer as compared to the original pattern.
- Increase the height of all 6 A templates by adding 2" at the top and piece all 6 sections. After the sections are complete, trim them to 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" including seam allowances (instead of 7 1/2" x 3 1/2").
- Piece all remaining template sections and assemble your 6 tree blocks. They should each measure 7 1/2" x 14 1/2".
-
Assemble your table runner as shown below:
- Quilt, baste and bind your table runner.
That's it! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will get lots of compliments from your holiday guests!

I love this pattern. I’m thinking about making it in fall colors, like red, orange, yellow.
Love the pattern and good time to get started
